Getting a concept ready for manufacturing takes countless, manual and error-prone clicks to assign constraints and dimensions. As one of our users said: "Only a third of my time goes into real design work. The rest is just clicking through sketches and dimensions, and I can only click so fast". Solution We are solving this problem by building an "autocomplete" for CAD. It understands the engineers' design intent and proposes their next move. Engineers can preview any of the proposed changes, presented in a red overlay, and accept it with a single keystroke. Our current product, Sketch Helper, helps with 2D design and sketching. Next, we are going to expand into full 3D to help with assemblies as well as design for manufacturing. --- Sketch Helper at a GlanceShowcasing everything that’s currently available, plus a growing list of features we're actively building to make your experience even better.Constraint recommendations:These recommendations introduce constraints to existing geometries in the sketch.Dangling PointsConnects 2 dangling pointsHV LinesApplies horizontal/vertical constraintsConcentricApplies concentric constraint to circles/arcsEqual Circles/ArcsApplies equality constraints to circles/arcsTangentApplies tangent constraint to a connecting line and arcReplace PerpReplaces perpendicular constraints with horizontal/vertical constraints Perp ArcMakes a line perpendicular to an arcSymmetryMakes design symmetricalGenerative recommendations:These recommendations propose new geometries to be introduced to the sketch. This update focuses heavily on features that help you communicate your design intent, streamlining your workflow, and ensuring your sketches are properly defined. It includes brand new features such as Symmetry, Chain Mirror, and HV Circles, as well as a significantly improved Dangling Points.Your feedback is essential to helping us build the right tools. Our decision to work on these features, particularly Chain Mirror and improved Dangling Points, was in great part influenced by the feedback we have received from you. We’d love to continue hearing from you about your experience and your day-to-day challenges in CAD so that we can focus on building the features that can make your lives easier. Reach us anytime at support@hestus.co.SymmetrySymmetry constraint is a powerful tool that helps engineers clearly express their design intent. Sketch Helper is now more capable than ever of understanding your intent. We are very proud to introduce the Symmetry recommendation. It can propose creating a new symmetry axis and symmetrizing candidate geometries around that axis, or it can leverage an existing symmetry axis in the design to propose recommendations that maintain the symmetrical nature of the design.Chain MirrorSince we released the original Mirror feature, we have been hearing from you about how helpful it is, but also that it was limited to one curve at a time. The number one request related to this feature was to be able to mirror a chain of curves as opposed to just one.Now you can do that in just one click. The new Chain Mirror recommendation automatically detects any existing line of symmetry and detects potential candidates for chain mirroring, saving you from doing multiple manual clicks.HV CirclesOftentimes, designers need to line up circular features in their design. These features may not all be the same size or be the same distance from one another, so using a patterning tool wouldn't work. Lining up circles horizontally and/or vertically takes lots of manual clicks. The HV Circles recommendation does that for you in one click. Not only that, it also connects these circles with horizontal and vertical construction lines. With these lines in place, you can easily dimension the features relative to each other, using All Line Dimensions, as well as visually notice the relationship among the circles.Improved Dangling PointsSketch Helper now proposes to connect dangling points to curves or points that are part of a chain of curves. Connecting curves together is tedious, especially in a crowded design. Frequently, a curve end point which was meant to be connected to another curve is not properly connected; this results in a profile that is not fully enclosed, making it impossible to extrude or revolve. The new Dangling Point recommendation solves this problem.Furthermore, Sketch Helper now supports connecting points and curves to the origin. Affixing a sketch to the origin allows the designer to properly define and constrain the sketch from the start.Previous versionsVersion: 1.0.1Release date: Sep 22, 2025Click to expandVersion: 0.7.0Release date: June 2, 2025Click to expandVersion: 0.6.3Release date: May 13, 2025Click to expandVersion: 0.5.0Release date: Apr 07, 2025Click to expandVersion: 0.4.1Release date: Mar 31, 2025Click to expandVersion: 0.2.0Release date: Nov 8, 2024Click to expand
