Skip to main content Published April 19, 2023 in Company NewsSherif Mansour Published April 19, 2023 in Company News Introducing Atlassian Intelligence Say hello to your new AI-powered virtual teammate Throughout history, teams have been at the heart of humanity’s greatest achievements. Atlassian is committed to unleashing the potential of every team, helping them accomplish what’s impossible alone. Our collaboration tools and practices help over 250,000 customers tackle tasks big and small, from space missions to climate change, from bugs in code to equipment requests. Today, Artificial intelligence (AI) is driving a seismic transformation that’s changing the way we work. AI has the potential to take teamwork to the next level, dramatically accelerating what teams can achieve. We have already been using machine learning to enhance core experiences in our products for years, from personalized search to recommending people and teams to bring into collaboration. With AI technology advancing rapidly, we’re excited to share how we’re bringing its power and magic to the full family of Atlassian Cloud products. We are committed to working with and helping our customers and partners navigate this fast-changing technology landscape responsibly and in line with the values that we all share. (You can read more about our responsible technology principles here.) Meet Atlassian Intelligence Atlassian Intelligence provides your team with a new virtual teammate that deeply understands how they collaborate to accelerate work. Leveraging AI through internal models and our collaboration with OpenAI, Atlassian Intelligence is built into the Atlassian platform, the common technology foundation across all of our cloud products. With more than 20 years of data reflecting how millions of software, IT, and business teams plan, track, and deliver work, Atlassian Intelligence has a unique understanding of teamwork. This knowledge underpins the teamwork graph, which is modeled on the two most common types of teamwork: Service-based work: teams accepting incoming requests for help and using custom workflows and data to drive resolutions for employees and customers. Project-based work: teams managing projects from concept to delivery with roadmaps, plans, tasks, goals, and documentation. Using large language models, Atlassian Intelligence deduces how teams at a given company work together and constructs a custom teamwork graph showing the types of work being done and the relationship between them. With the open approach of the Atlassian platform, the teamwork graph is also enriched with additional context and data from the third-party apps teams use. Let’s take a look at how Atlassian Intelligence can unleash more of your team’s potential. Accelerate any type of work Atlassian Intelligence uses generative AI technology from OpenAI to create, summarise and extract information from content, enabling your team to accelerate their work. With Atlassian Intelligence, you can: Quickly summarize decisions and action items from meeting minutes. A marketer asks Atlassian Intelligence to draft tweets to prepare for a product announcement Define test plans for product updates in Jira A product owner asks Atlassian Intelligence to outline the operating systems for testing an update Get instant help and get up to speed fast Speed is the lifeblood of modern service management. Employees and customers alike expect immediate responses and fast resolutions. Atlassian Intelligence powers an always-on, virtual teammate in Jira Service Management that delivers instant help when teams need it most. New to Jira Service Management, the virtual agent automates support interactions, right from within Slack and Microsoft Teams. Employees can get help without ever having to leave their favorite collaboration tools. And it deflects repetitive requests on behalf of support teams, allowing them to focus on more important work. Setting up the virtual agent is fast, with no coding, data science, or costly consultants required. Powered by Atlassian Intelligence, the virtual agent is able to: Resolve help requests instantly based on its understanding of knowledge base articles. If needed, it can also ask follow-up questions to take any necessary actions. A Jira Service Management virtual agent (named Charlie) helping a teammate get access to software Summarize activity on help requests to get assigned agents up to speed. Atlassian Intelligence summarizes activity on a request in Jira Service Management for a human agent Help craft thoughtful responses to put customers at ease during stressful situations. A human agent asks Atlassian Intelligence to adjust the tone of their response to suit the situation In addition, Atlassian Intelligence helps operations and support teams get up to speed faster by: Surfacing previously resolved or related issues to empower faster incident resolution Recommending relevant knowledge base articles and related pages to resolve requests and incidents faster Learn on the fly As your organization grows, so does the institutional knowledge and terms used to describe projects, acronyms, and internal systems. Building a shared understanding of what all these things mean and who knows about them is incredibly hard. Atlassian Intelligence provides shared context with an on-demand dictionary specific to your company, your teams, and their work. You can highlight a term and ask Atlassian Intelligence to explain it with the definition, source of information, internal subject matter experts, and how it connects to related work based on the teamwork graph. Atlassian Intelligence explains an institutional term to a teammate reading a Confluence page Answer anything Atlassian Intelligence can understand natural language questions, helping you: Answer questions about the company’s institutional knowledge and policies in Confluence, such as “How much can I spend on my home office setup?” and “How do I setup my development environment?” Atlassian Intelligence gives an instant answer to a question, based on content in a plan in Confluence Unlock the power of Jira Query Language (JQL) to find issues across all Jira products. Atlassian Intelligence quickly translates a natural language query to Jira Query Language (JQL) Generate insights using data from multiple sources in Atlassian Analytics, a hub to analyze and visualize data across Atlassian products and connected third-party tools, without needing to know how to write SQL. Atlassian Intelligence quickly translates a natural language query to SQL prompt Atlassian Intelligence understands all the languages supported by Atlassian Cloud products. Join us on the journey!
