You can get an OpenAI API key from platform.openai.comUse the keyboard shortcut CMD + SHIFT + ' (command + shift + single quotation mark) to activate the app, and trigger the last system access prompt.You're now ready to use the app. Make sure to check the How To instructions for a quick explainer of how to use the app, or watch the video below.Required PermissionsMacGaiver requires the following three system permissions to operate. You’ll be asked to grant them during the setup. Without these permissions, the application will not work.Access to the keychain: To store your OpenAI API key securely.Access to the microphone: To record your question (when you use the keyboard shortcut).Access to perform screen recording (accessibility): To take a screenshot of the active window (when you use the keyboard shortcut)Built with 💚 by @ralfelfving using Gadget --- MacGaiverDownloadHow ToFAQGet StartedHow to Use MacGaiverUsing MacGaiver is as easy as the press of a keyboard shortcut.MacGaiver runs in the background, and is activated by using the pre-defined keyboard shortcut CMD + SHIFT + ' (command + shift + single quotation mark).Below is a description of how to use the app.Using Voice InputChoose an active application window (other than MacGaiver).Press the keyboard shortcut to take a screenshot of the active window.This also activates the system’s default microphone.Speak your question.Press the keyboard shortcut again to stop recording and submit your question to OpenAI.Wait for the response, which will be shown in text in the MacGaiver window, and read out loud to you.Using Text InputChoose an active application window (other than MacGaiver).Press the keyboard shortcut to take a screenshot of the active window.A text input window will appear.Type your question into the text input window and hit enter/return.Your question will be submitted to OpenAI.Wait for the response, which will be shown in text in the MacGaiver window.Both the main MacGaiver window and the smaller notification window will display your question and answer, and any errors.You can move or dismiss the smaller notification window if it's ever in the way.
